Our Stockholm-favourites

a few suggestions of where to go and what to do if you have some time off…

  • Djurgården
At Djurgården you find nice walking paths among oak trees and along the water, as well as many cafés with local specialties. Visit Skansen, the zoo, or Gröna Lund, the amusement park. To get there: take the ferry from Slussen (5 minutes) or bus 47.
  • Rosendals garden café
A beautiful place to visit any time of the year. Located at Djurgården (see above)
  • Old Town
For nice strolls around the old parts of the town. Cafés, restaurants and typical Swedish handicraft to purchase. A classic café is Café Gråmunken (the Grey Monk), located at Västerlångatan 18.
  • For a fantastic view
Take the Katarina Lift and get a lovely view of the town and the waterfront.
While you are up there, you can check out Gondolen, of which some say is the best restaurant in Stockholm.
  • Stockholm Public Library
The famous building by architect Gunnar Asplund is located at the junction Sveavägen and Odengatan. Nearest tube: Rĺdmansgatan or Odenplan. A lot of buses stops outside : for example 2, 4, 42 and 72.
